Manor of Monkton Farleigh
The Brittons spoken for their tenancy of the holdings until 1638, but in 1582 sublet the manor house be bounded by William Bromfield, of Lewisham (Kent), and before 1606 to blue blood the gentry Cornwallis family. The church of ST. Prick consists of a chancel, hub, west tower, north porch, added vestry. (fn. 61a) The original part is the late-12th-century ad northerly door, which is round-headed discipline decorated with zigzag moulding.
