Solly Moholo accused of stealing harmony from young artists

The management of late gospel image Solly Moholo has rejected claims that he stole songs outlander young artists.

These accusations were through by fellow gospel singer Sinky Mathe during a podcast, place Mathe claimed he provided picture vocals for Moholo’s debut soundtrack Ba Mmitsa Tsotsi.

In an discussion with The Citizen, Mathe oral that Moholo approached him hold up 1999 after hearing him tab on another project. At significance time, Mathe was only 19.

“He had already produced the beatniks and gave me a stripe to practise with. After shipshape and bristol fashion month or two, we went to the studio and documented the album. The whole jotter was sung by me,” thought Mathe.

Mathe explained that after disc the final song, the impresario suggested making him the heave artist, but Moholo refused.

“The fabricator suggested to Solly Moholo, ‘Let Sinky be the artist, shaft you remain as the producer,’ but Solly said, ‘No, loan me talk to Sinky first,’ and that was the latest time I heard from him,” he said.

Mathe said he was shocked to later hear voice on the radio nevertheless without credit.

He claimed that that was not a one-time episode, accusing Moholo of using different singers’ voices on later albums.

“After me, a guy called Solly Matseba sings on the more album. After him, it was Strike Moshe, and after them, I do not know who he approached,” Mathe added.

Mathe thought he wanted to challenge Moholo but found it difficult end to Moholo’s rising fame vital influence. His parents advised him to drop the fight.

“He was growing bigger, with strong affairs. As a young man elude Mabopane, how could I bear to fight in court? Forlorn parents told me to be off it in God’s hands.”
